About me
Megan has worked in field of early childhood education for 35 years. She has experience serving young children (birth through six years old), as a Preschool teacher and Director in multiple types of programs: State, Private, Co-op and Family Childcare.
Prior to coming to KCSOS in 2016, Megan was the preschool Director at Caring Corner. She designed this specialized preschool program for children (infants through 6 years old), who are medically fragile and received ongoing medical care at the skilled nursing facility.
Currently Megan is KCSOS’s Manager School Readiness, and the California Preschool Instructional Network (CPIN) Lead for Region 8, supporting Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties. Megan coordinates, plans and provides CPIN professional learning, technical assistance and on-site support to Preschool and TK programs throughout Region 8.
Megan’s passion for early childhood education began at Bakersfield College, where she was a student intern at Wesley Child Development Center and earned an Associate of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. She continued her education at Fresno Pacific University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies. Then Megan joined Point Loma Nazarene University’s teaching credential program, where she earned a Multiple Subject credential, Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe teaching credentials and a Master’s degree in Special Education, with a specialty in Early Childhood Special Education.
Outside of teaching, Megan enjoys Art, music, gardening and spending time with family and friends.
