About me
For ten years, I’ve been a dedicated educator, bringing a unique perspective shaped by my prior career as a social worker providing transitional case management to incarcerated individuals in California’s state prison system. As a mother of three and a wife of 26 years, I approach my role with both personal and professional insight. Now in my seventh year teaching first grade in the Beardsley School District, I am also pursuing a reading specialist authorization from the University of California, San Diego. My commitment to disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline, a cycle I witnessed firsthand, drives my daily work. I strive to enhance my reading instruction through proven methods, ensuring every student in my classroom has the best opportunity to become a confident and capable reader.
